THE SPACE
Pier 58 Gloucester would be an interactive space with plenty of room for many activities including live theatre; performances by local and national musicians; local, national and international conferences; art exhibits; fishermen trainings; local, fresh cooking demonstrations; back of house internships & trainings; theatre and fine art classes; movie festivals and so much more.
The design is inspired by one-on-one conversations with hundreds of Gloucester residents and businesses who call Gloucester home. It is critically important the space reflects the needs and desires of the entire community.

The beautiful design and easy access to the waterfront as well as many public spaces within the building would draw residents and visitors alike as well as enhance Gloucester as a great place to visit throughout the year. The space would bring together Gloucester fishermen, artists, families, students, businesses, researchers and visitors for experiences that are affordable and engaging.
Located in the heart of downtown Gloucester, Pier 58 Gloucester would encourage people to extend their stay and visit local businesses, hotels and restaurants throughout the year. With plenty of on-site and near parking, visiting early and staying longer would be feasible and convenient.
DECADES IN THE MAKING
For more than 60 years, Gloucester residents, businesses and elected officials have sought to find a solution for the parcel of land known as I4C2. Located at the waterfront in downtown, this land impacts the daily lives of Gloucester lobstermen, residents, business owners and visitors. This project would offer a dynamic and beautiful venue for entertainment, conferences, the arts, education and celebrations. It would also contribute to Gloucester’s fishing industry and infrastructure.
